The bases are loaded and the batter has a count of two and zero.  The next pitch is called a ball by the home plate umpire.  The batter, believing it is ball four, walk/runs to first base and all of the base runners walk/run to the next base.  The umpire neither makes a motion towards first base nor says "ball four".  All of the base runners advance to the next base without being put out.  After all of the runners advance, the home plate umpire discovers that the pitch was only ball three and asks that the batter come back and resume her at bat.  Are the runners that advanced sent back to their original base or do the runners advance and the run is scored?  If the umpire puts the runners back in their original position, does it matter if the runner from third base touched home plate and then ran out of play?

The runners advanced at their own risk and would have been out if tagged.
The run scores. Runners on 2nd and 3rd.
The batter returns to bat with a 3 ball and 0 Strike count.

i know this question is from a while back lets put this twist on it which I just saw.

Same thing with only runner on first,  ball three batter walks to first,  R1 advances to second,  batter is called back to home to complete at bat and runner on second returns to first.  Coach objects and umpire sends runner back to second.

I have two thoughts on this first the runner is out for returning to 1st base after legally touching 2nd.   If she is not out then the umpire should not have advised her to go to second.

Thoughts?

There is no rule prohibiting a runner who has touched second base to return to first base.
In fact, it is quite common on a long caught fly ball.
If time was called with the runner on second and batter on first, the batter should have been return to resume her at bat and the runner should be on second.
If the runner returned to first without time being call, she should have stayed on first.
